Aims of the conference
Comprehension and generalization of modern theoretical, experimental and applied research in the field of Larp
To create Larp GM Academy, where the experience and knowledge of academics through out the world will be transfered to GMm and larp practitioners willing to learn
Combining the efforts of representatives of the various academic and practical areas, schools, movements aimed at cooperation in the development and application of larp techniques to solve social problems
The main speakers
J. Tuomas Harviainen (PhD, MBA, MTh) is a Finnish university professor and larp designer. Сo-editor of the Sage journal Simulation & Gaming (top ranked academic journal for game studies), editor of Seksologinen Aikakauskirja, the annual journal of the Finnish Association for Sexology, and a former executive editor of the International Journal of Role-Playing. Also supervises doctoral students for four universities. He has contributed to numerous publications on game studies, and his mini-larps have been run in over 20 countries and translated to a dozen languages.
Dr. Michal Mochocki works at Kazimierz Wielki University in Bydgoszcz, Poland. He is Assistant Professor in English Studies and founder of GAMEDEC: Game Studies & Design specialisation path in Humanities 2.0. Researcher, designer and promoter of live-action and tabletop role-playing games, as well as game-based learning and gamification. His current research focuses on historical larp, RPG and reenactment. Editorial Advisory Board member of the official journal of the Games Research Association of Poland (membership) «Homo Ludens».
